ACCES Employment has been helping newcomers find meaningful work in the Canadian job market for more than 35 years. ACCES currently has more than 240 employees who are dedicated to providing newcomers with the learning, support, and resources they need to find employment in their new country. As part of our commitment to supporting newcomers, ACCES has been a proud partner of the TRIEC Mentoring Program since its inception. In fact, ACCES partnered with TRIEC as far back as when it was a program under the Maytree foundation, and we supported TRIEC when it was first granted charitable status. We are proud of our long-standing collaborations with TRIEC, and we are honoured to be a valued partner.
The TRIEC Mentoring Program offers newcomers an opportunity to connect with industry professionals and gain valuable insights into their desired fields. As a continuation of the extensive training and job search support we offer at ACCES, our clients benefit greatly from the TRIEC program. They appreciate the chance to learn about networking in a safe and supportive setting, with a team of caring and committed people who help them throughout their employment journey.
The feedback we have received from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive. They are grateful for the opportunity to connect with mentors who are willing to offer valuable insights and answer all their questions. Many of our clients share their stories of success and how the program has helped them land meaningful employment. One such story is that of Mariam Omar.
Mariam is a Somali immigrant who came to Canada in search of a better life. Despite having a master’s degree in International Cooperation and Communication and five years of experience, Mariam was struggling to land job interviews. After completing our Career Pathways for Newcomer Women (CPNW) program, Mariam was connected with a bilingual mentor through the TRIEC Mentoring Program. Her mentor provided her with further guidance to understand the dynamics of the local job market and helped her to network with professionals in her industry. Within three months of completing the CPNW program, Mariam landed a position as a Bilingual Mentoring Associate at Futurpreneur.
Mariam’s success story is just one of many examples of the impact the TRIEC Mentoring Program has on our clients. It is a testament to the power of partnerships between organizations like ACCES and TRIEC.
Partnering with the TRIEC Mentoring Program means so much to us at ACCES. Our clients benefit from being coached and mentored by industry professionals who really want them to succeed. It also helps us provide our clients with a more comprehensive approach to finding employment, one that includes training and job search support as well as mentorship and networking opportunities.
We thank TRIEC for their commitment to supporting newcomers and for the opportunity to be a part of The Mentoring Partnership. We look forward to continuing our partnership and helping newcomers achieve their career goals.
