The TMP program helps immigrant professionals understand the workplace culture and Canadian industry trends, develop effective job search strategies, and realize the benefits of professional networking and tweaks they need to make in their resume, so it gets noticed by potential employers. Additionally, it provides program participants with a better understanding of the upgrading courses relevant to their profession so they can get integrated faster into their field.

Mentees value the time and guidance received from their mentors. Most mentees feel better prepared for their job interviews after the mentoring sessions. They receive valuable input on creating an elevator pitch to capture key skills during a job interview. Another benefit of having a mentor is that it helps them to realize that some changes need to be made in their career path in Canada and the importance of their transferable skills and expertise.

We have achieved great success with our mentees. This the feedback from one of the mentees in the program:

Esperanza Coote

“I am thankful for this mentorship opportunity that TRIEC granted me. I want to thank Esperanza Coote to have understood my needs and to have selected the right professional for my mentoring. Let me also express my gratitude to my mentor Anita A. for her valuable support and dedication… I really learned a lot and at the end of this mentorship I felt more equipped to embrace the Canadian job market and fit into this workplace culture” Gael Kamga

Being a partner with TMP has allowed us to:

  • Support newcomers in an effort to integrate them into their profession.
  • Help newcomers who are unaware of their industry and how their profession works in Canada.
  • With the support of the TMP program, newcomers are able to receive guidance directly from an industry professional, which gives them more clarity on their career path and clear expectations.
  • TMP is a structured program where mentors are committed to guiding newcomer professionals.
  • The program helps the mentees connect with their industry mentors.

To other organizations who may consider joining TRIEC Mentoring Partnership – this program is excellent for immigrant professionals to learn about the Canadian workplace culture and industry trends with the help of an experienced professional from their industry. Newcomers benefit by connecting with professionals from their sector, boosting their confidence to follow their career path.

The program is free of cost and is a structured program where newcomers can network with an industry professional within a definite timeframe.
